My House

So the house that I live at, is not just for myself. I also share the house with guest when the come. Since the hospital always had visitors or groups volunteer they decide to buy a large enough house for guest to come and stay at. As part of my job I am in charge of the management of the house and it staff. I basically live/run a hotel which is kinda cool. The house has two levels and a roof which you can go up to and sit on. The house is built out of cement block with then cement covering the blocks. It’s a huge house and funny enough I feel like I am living in a bomb shelter because of the thickness of the walls and the bars on the windows. However it is a very nice house and has all the basic needs.

First floor:
The first floors of the house is like most house you walk into a entry way then you see three iron doors. The first iron door leads to the dinning room and living room. The second door leads to one bedroom and the batteries which are used to power the house. The last iron door leads to a bathroom, kitchen, and bedroom. The whole floor is connect once you enter one of the iron doors.

Second floor:
Once you walk up the flight of stairs you are the level of bedrooms. Upstairs there are roughly seven rooms. Three rooms have three beds, one has two beds, and two rooms have one bed. There is also an upstairs living room which has three beds in it. I live in one of the single rooms that also have a attached screened in porch and two windows so I get a great breeze.  The other rooms are rooms for the guest, when they are staying at the house there is also another screened in porch for them to use, so I don’t have to share. Also on the second floor there are two bathrooms that are shared between myself and the guest. I had the choice to take the bigger room with the attached bath but it had only one window and I still had to share the bathroom when guest came. I believe I made the right choice but feel free to share if you think other wise.

The roof:
The roof is a place that you can go and sit and enjoys the breeze and look over the town. There not much to say other then that, about the roof but its kinda nice to have a extra place to go an hang.

Guest:

So the guest house is open to the public not just to visitors medical personal to the hospital so if you want to come and visit you can book a room. For the next two months most of the time there is at least two guest all the time at the house expected for next week. This past week I have a mission group from Illinois here with 13 college students that are traveling around Haiti. I have to say it is very nice to have different people coming and going. I hope that this year I will be meeting a ton of interesting people of many different beliefs. A part of this job that is going to be new to me is working for a faith based organization and being apart of many different mission groups that will stay at my house. I believe that when I leave Haiti I will understand why my plane was full of so many different mission groups.
